Family-owned certified organic and biodynamic winery in McLaren Flat, with a sustainable solar-powered tasting room overlooking the vineyards.
Sustainable by conviction
Gemtree is a family-owned winery founded in 1998 by Paul and Jill Buttery, now run by winemaker Mike Brown and viticulturist Melissa Brown. It is one of McLaren Vale's most celebrated certified organic and biodynamic producers, and a founding member of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia.
Signature range
Gemtree's Uncut Shiraz, Luna Crescent Shiraz and Small Batch range are among the region's best-loved organic wines. The estate also runs its own wetland conservation project as part of its holistic vineyard management.
Tasting room
The sustainable tasting room is built from recycled materials and powered by solar panels. It sits on an elevated deck with sweeping views across McLaren Vale and out to the Gulf St Vincent. Please confirm opening status before visiting as seasonal closures apply.
